Curriculum Statement
Our unique curriculum, Brighter Futures, is bespoke to the needs of our pupils and was developed though extensive discussions with various stakeholders, including staff, parents, pupils and governors.
The Brighter Futures Curriculum is sequences and organised to encourage aspiration and cultural capital alongside developing pupils’ knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable them to become active citizens, well-equipped for what the future holds.
Our recently updated curriculum foundations form the basis of our long and medium-term plans across the subjects.

Curriculum Foundations
World Around Us: develop pupils’ awareness of our local cultural heritage; understanding of the world beyond the local area; promoting acceptance and celebrating diversity.
Environmental Awareness: encouraging pupils to know how they can contribute to looking after their environment and wider world.
The World of Work: developing aspirations and economic awareness, engaging with people from a wide range of professions.
Safety Net: knowing how to stay safe in school, online and in the wider world, how to report things that make you feel unsafe, understanding what to do in an emergency.
Healthy Me: promoting an awareness of how to ensure good mental and physical health.
Making Memories: dedicated to ensuring that our pupils experience a childhood filled with fun, laughter and memorable experiences. These are based around making the most of our school grounds, exploring the local area and making links with nature as well as learning new skills.
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
At Roseberry Primary and Nursery School, we believe that inclusive education means providing all pupils with appropriate education and support alongside their peers. The Curriculum is all the planned activities that the school organises in order to promote learning, personal growth and development. Further information can be found in the SEND Information Report. If you would like to discuss your SEND requirements in detail please contact the school to arrange an appointment. Further information on SEND provision is available on the SEND tab above.
