Mrs Matthews

When did you start working at Roseberry?

I started in September 2022.

What is your role in school?

I am a teaching assistant in Year 3&4.

Why did you become a teaching assistant?

I became a teaching assistant so I could support and encourage children. Watching the progress they make as they learn and grow is so rewarding and I love that every day is different.

What is your favourite subject and why?

My favourite subject is Geography as it teaches you everything you need to know about the world we live in.

Do you have a favourite book?

Peace at Last by Jill Murphy. It was my son’s favourite book to read together when he was little.

What is your favourite food?

Any Italian food!

What is your favourite sport?

I always enjoyed running and did cross country at school (many years ago!). I decided to take it up again during lockdown, but I’m a little slower now.

Do you have any hobbies?

I really enjoy travelling and discovering new places. I also love a good walk in the country or spending time with my family and friends.

What do you like about working at Roseberry?

The children – they are all fantastic and make me smile every day! Everyone is so welcoming and supportive, so I feel proud and very fortunate to work in such a positive environment.
