Miss Miller

When did you start working at Roseberry?
I joined Roseberry in September 2019.

What is your role in school?
I am a Year 2 teacher. I am also the History and Design Technology lead.

Why did you become a teacher?
I always wanted to be a teacher because of the inspiring teachers I had when I was growing up. I wanted to be that for other children. I love that everyday is completely different and find helping others very rewarding.

What is your favourite subject and why?
When I was at school my favourite subjects were PE and English. I enjoyed being active, working as a team and being creative. Now, as a teacher, my favourite subject to teach is KS1 Maths because I like setting tasks for my class to complete in a variety of different ways to deepen their understanding. As I am the lead for History and DT I enjoy developing my subject knowledge within these subjects as well as supporting my colleagues with their teaching.

Do you have a favourite book?
My favourite book to read to my class is Superworm. The children love joining in with the rhyming throughout.

What is your favourite food?
My favourite food is garlic bread and cheese, it’s a great side to most meals!

What is your favourite sport?
My favourite sport to do is Dance but my favourite sport to watch is Athletics, particular the Olympics.

Do you have any hobbies?
In my spare time you can find me listening to music and singing along (probably not very well). I love to spend time with my family and friends, going for meals together. Playing board games is one of my favourite things to do. My aim is to travel to lots of different countries.

What do you like about working at Roseberry?
I loved the welcoming environment of Roseberry from both adults and children as soon as I started working here. The staff work really well as a team and genuinely all get along. We listen to one another and help each other to develop. The children try their best and appreciate the opportunities they are given.
