Miss Gray

When did you start working at Roseberry?
Easter 2018.

What is your role in school?
I teach in Year 3 & 4. I am also the maths and KS2 lead.

Why did you become a teacher?
I really enjoy how different every day can be – the best part of my job is the children that I work with. I love seeing the ‘lightbulb moment’ when someone learns something new.

What is your favourite subject and why?
It’s hard to choose! I love maths because I think it has a bad reputation for being hard, and I love it when I help people to feel more confident with numbers. I also love history and finding out about life in the past.

Do you have a favourite book?
When I was younger, my favourite books were the Harry Potter books. I grew up with them being released and the main characters were about the same age as me. Some of my school mates were even extras in some of the films because they were filmed at Alnwick Castle, right next to my high school! As an adult, I enjoy reading lots of different types of books.

What is your favourite food?
I make an excellent cheese toastie!

What is your favourite sport?
I really enjoy watching rugby union, but I wouldn’t be any good at playing it! At school, I played netball and hockey.

Do you have any hobbies?
I used to dance and play musical instruments, and I was in a choir. I still enjoy playing the piano and flute in my spare time.

What do you like about working at Roseberry?
Our children! I think they make every day special. I also really like how well all of our staff work together every day, because we help and support each other and have fun along the way!
