Miss Blakeney

When did you start working at Roseberry?

I’ve been here since 2013!

What is your role in school?

I’m the year 6 teacher and I also lead English and PSHE throughout school.

Why did you become a teacher?

I’ve always wanted to help people in some way and felt that helping children to learn would be the most fun. My passion for reading and confidence meant I chose a job that involves lots of people.

What is your favourite subject and why?

My favourite subject is English because I love crafting a piece of writing with a class. I also adore reading aloud to classes and sharing thoughts and opinions about the book we are reading.

Do you have a favourite book?

My favourite series of books is probably the Northern Lights series by Phillip Pullman.

What is your favourite food?

I love a good steak – medium rare please!

What is your favourite sport?

It has to be football. TOON TOON!

Do you have any hobbies?

I enjoy reading, watching TV series, cooking for friends and going to the cinema.

What do you like about working at Roseberry?

We’re all such a good team here. Everyone is willing to help each other out and we support each other. This place feels like my second home and that’s not a bad thing as it’s so welcoming and positive.
